6th Annual Research Conference of AMDIP -IMS

The event was jointly organized by the Institute of Management Sciences, Peshawar and Association of Management Development Institutions in Pakistan (AMDIP) on January 20, 2017 and named as ‘The First National Colloquium for Budding Researchers and Faculty of Business Schools’. The colloquium was highly supported by a great number of academic and scholastic aspirants of business and management domains. Various sub-themes were derived like Economics, Finance, Islamic Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management and General Management. More than 65 papers and 15 posters were received from the research scholars all across the country.

A highly proficient Colloquium Review Committee comprised of 19 PhD faculty members, reviewed these papers and abstracts. Based on learning quality and knowledge creation, the committee selected 42 papers for further capitulation, among which 37 were presented on the Colloquium day. 17 renowned Business universities took part in this academic conference. A number of 150 participants including presenters, industrial guests and scholarly audience attended the session and contributed with their intellectual discussions.

The conference was opened by Dr. Mohsin (VC, IM Sciences) who was pleased to welcome the worthy Chief Guest; Mr. Zafar Ali Shah (Secretary, Higher Education Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) who delivered the honored Speech. Dr. Shahid Amjad Chaudhry (Rector-Lahore School of Economics/Chairperson AMDIP) was the key note speaker of this event. The colloquium also embraced the invited speakers Dr. Atta Ullah Shah (VC, City University), Ms. Bushra Shafique (Joint Director- State Bank of Pakistan, Karachi) and Dr. Saranjam Baig (HOD, Karakoram International University, Gilgit Baltistan). Ms. Naveda Kitchlew (Chair Person of AMDIP-Lahore chapter) lead IM Sciences Colloquium as the session Chairperson. Ms. Memoona Zareen (AMDIP Secretary) also joined the conference with her remarkable presence.

Each referred theme of colloquium was presented and discussed separately under its attached title during the conference. The presenters were accommodated with supportive environment for sharing their unique ideas and receiving valued feedback. After enriched and thoughtful discussions, debates and reflection over the presented material, the Colloquium Committee selected best papers and posters of the seminar. In the closing ceremony, awards were distributed for the best presenters, papers and posters under each titled theme of colloquium.
